How to Apply Applications are available at the time of registration and at each campus. You may apply for free or reduced benefits at any time during the school year by requesting an application in the school's office. Birdville ISD also provides an online application to help make the process easier and more convenient for parents. To apply, just enter the requested information as accurately as possible, and all data will be securely sent to your child/children's school district for immediate processing.  To start your family's meal benefits sooner, enter your information now!  Please submit only one application per household, regardless of what campus(es) your child/children attend. Please refer to the guidelines contained within the "Letter to Household" when completing the form.

If you currently receive SNAP, formerly known as Food Stamps or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) for any children, the application must include the children's names, the household SNAP or TANF Eligibility Group Number and the signature of an adult household member. Applications can also be processed based on the household size and income. An application that is not complete cannot be approved. Contact your local Department of Social Services for your SNAP or TANF Eligibility Group Number or complete the income portion of the application.

Print the Letter to Parents and the application form. We must have a complete form as instructed on the application before it can be processed to include all members of the household, students in the district, income with frequency of pay and signature. Processing of the application will be delayed if any information is not provided. Applications will be processed within 10 operating days of receiving it in our office.

All foster children who are the legal responsibility of a welfare agency or court are eligible for benefits regardless of the income of the household with whom they reside. Also, if a household member becomes unemployed or if the household size increases, the household may become eligible and should contact the school.

All students that were active in BISD on the last day of school the previous school year, will be given a grace period of 30 days to eat based on the previous years status or until a current year's application is processed.
