Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
Under the accountability provisions in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, all public school campuses, school districts, and the state are evaluated for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). AYP measures how well students perform on TAKS/SDAA reading and mathematics tests (performance) AND how many students take reading and mathematics tests (participation). The state plan for meeting federal AYP requirements and related information are available online. To review AYP information for 2010 and other AYP-related data from TEA, click here.
